Morocco was once home to a quarter of a million Jews. Since the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, most have emigrated, fleeing poverty, marginalisation or pogroms. Today, with 1,500 members, Casablanca's Jewish community is the largest in the Arab world. But above all, it remains invisible. However, Morocco is working to make its cultural heritage and reputation more visible and recognised. Christine Helfer visited Casablanca's Jewish community.
