Friulian in Friuli – A Language with Hip-Hop Accents

Friulian is spoken by about half a million people in the Friuli, and it is recognised as an official language for the regional authorities and in schools. The language is mainly spoken in the provinces of Pordenone, Udine and in the Carnic Alps.
In the 13th century it was sometimes used even as a literary language, and the minet team has come across two young Hip Hop artists who use both their accent and their music to break new ground for the Friulian language.
